Who we are
FlipFeeCalc (flipfeecalc.com) is operated by FlipFeeCalc. For anything privacy-related, email hello@flipfeecalc.com.
The short version
- The calculators do their maths in your browser. We don't run accounts, and we don't store your calculations on a server.
- Like any website, our host (Cloudflare) receives technical data such as your IP address and the address of the page you open, including calculator values in a shared link.
- Advertising cookies are used only if you accept them, and never if your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. Ads are not switched on yet.
- We don't sell your personal information for money.
Information we collect
- Calculator inputs. Prices, costs and settings you type are calculated in your browser and are not sent to us when you type them. See Shareable links and page addresses for the exception.
- Technical data. When you load a page, your browser sends our host standard request data: IP address, user agent (browser and device), the URL requested and the referring page.
- Emails. If you contact us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and use them to reply and to fix reported issues.
- Data stored in your browser. We don't set cookies ourselves. We save two settings in your browser's local storage. They stay on your device and are never sent to us:
cookie-consent-v1: your cookie choice (grantedordenied). Remove it with "Cookie settings" in the footer.theme: whether you picked light or dark mode (lightordark). It's only saved if you use the theme toggle.
- Advertising cookies. Set by Google and its partners only if ads are enabled and you accept. See Advertising and cookies.
Shareable links and page addresses
To make results shareable, the calculators keep your current inputs in the page address (for example ?p=300&cat=phones&store=basic). Updating the address bar as you type doesn't send anything anywhere. But whenever a page is loaded with those values in its address (when you open a shared link, reload the page or come back to it from a bookmark), the full address, values included, goes to:
- Cloudflare, our host, as part of the normal web request. It may appear in Cloudflare's logs.
- Google, if ads are enabled and you accepted cookies, because ad code receives the address of the page it's shown on.
When you follow a link from our site to another website, our settings tell your browser to send only our domain name, not the full address with your values. Anyone you share a link with can see the values in it, so don't put anything you consider private into a link.
Who receives data
| Recipient | What they receive | When | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare (website hosting and content delivery) | IP address, browser user agent, the full page URL you request (including any calculator values in the query string), referring page, date and time, and request logs. Used to deliver and secure the site. | Every visit | Active |
| Google AdSense (advertising) | Cookies and similar identifiers, IP address, browser and device information, and the URL of the page you are viewing (which can include calculator values). Google may use this to show and measure ads, including personalized ads. | Only if ads are enabled on the site and you accept cookies, and never when your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control | Not active yet |
| Affiliate networks and merchants (for example Amazon Associates, eBay Partner Network, Vendoo and similar programs) | Their own cookies and the fact that you came from our site, used to credit us with a commission. They receive nothing from us before you click. | Only when you click an affiliate link and visit their site | Not active yet (links are currently plain, untracked links) |
| Our email provider (Cloudflare Email Routing and Google Gmail) | Your email address, name if you include it, and the content of your message. | Only if you email us | Active |
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the site or its users, or as part of a sale or transfer of the site.
Advertising and cookies
If you accept cookies, we may show ads from Google AdSense (not switched on yet). Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info. Learn more at How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
If you decline, no ad scripts are loaded. You can change your choice at any time with "Cookie settings" in the footer.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Do Not Track (DNT) and Global Privacy Control (GPC) are both honored, in the same way. If your browser or an extension sends either signal, our site doesn't load advertising scripts, whatever cookie choice you made before, and we don't show the cookie prompt. If you open "Cookie settings" while a signal is on, you'll see a short notice instead of the Accept button. We treat either signal as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information.
Tracking across other sites. When ads are enabled and you have accepted cookies (and your browser sends neither signal), Google and its advertising partners may collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites, including this one. Affiliate networks set their own cookies when you click an affiliate link. Apart from these, we don't allow other parties to collect information about your activity across websites through our site.
How long we keep data
- Emails you send us: kept for up to 24 months after our last exchange, then deleted, unless we need them longer to meet a legal obligation, resolve a dispute or enforce our terms.
- Hosting and security logs: kept by Cloudflare according to Cloudflare's privacy policy and data retention practices.
- Advertising and affiliate cookies: kept according to each provider's own policy. You can delete them in your browser at any time.
- Local storage settings: stay on your device until you clear them.
Your privacy rights and how to make a request
Depending on where you live (for example California or another US state with a privacy law, or the EEA or UK), you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, get a copy, correct it, delete it, or opt out of its sale or sharing for targeted advertising.
How to make a request: email hello@flipfeecalc.com with the subject line "Privacy request". Tell us what you'd like us to do and which email address or other details relate to you.
Verification: to protect you, we'll check that the request comes from you before acting on it. Usually that means replying from the email address you used to contact us. If needed we may ask for a little more information, which we'll use only to verify your request. An authorized agent can make a request for you with your signed permission, and we may still confirm it with you directly.
Timing: we'll respond within 45 days of receiving your request. If we need more time (up to another 45 days, where the law allows), we'll tell you why within the first 45 days.
No discrimination: we won't deny you access to the site, charge you a different price or give you a worse experience because you exercised your privacy rights.
We don't sell personal information for money. You can opt out of ad-related sharing at any time by declining cookies or by turning on Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track in your browser.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when our practices change (for example when we switch on ads or join an affiliate program) and change the "Last updated" date above.
